Once we’ve connected your local Excel file and finalized the dashboard, the next step is to publish your report online using Power BI Service.

Here’s how you can do it step-by-step:

Step 1: Open Power BI Service

  1. Go to https://app.powerbi.com.

  2. Sign in using your Microsoft work account.

Step 2: Go to My Workspace

  1. On the left panel, click My Workspace.

    • If you don’t have a workspace, you can create one.

    • Tip: For personal use, My Workspace is sufficient and free.

Step 3: Upload Your PBIX File

  1. In My Workspace, click on Import.

  2. Choose Report or Paginated Report.

  3. Select From This Computer.

  4. Locate and upload the downloaded PBIX file.

    • The report will now be hosted online!

Step 4: What You'll See After Upload

Once the upload is complete, you will see three items inside My Workspace:

  1. PBIX File – The actual file you uploaded.

  2. Report – The online version of your dashboard.

  3. Dataset (Semantic Model) – The data source behind your dashboard.

Done! Your dashboard is now successfully published.
