If you're managing inventory in RealBooks, it's important to regularly update your Item Master with any new products or services. Here's a quick guide to adding new items in RealBooks using the Inventory module.



✅ Step-by-Step: Add New Items in RealBooks


  1. Go to: Masters → Inventory → Item → Create


  2. Fill in the following fields:

    • Code – Unique identifier for the item (e.g., SKU or product code)

    • Name – Use a clear, short name with just the main words

    • Category/Group – Select the appropriate item group or category

    • HSN Code – Mandatory for tax compliance (especially for goods)

    • Tax – Set both Input and Output tax if the item is being purchased and sold

  • Avoid long product names—just the essentials are enough.

  • Always confirm category, HSN, and tax before saving.
